The Obama Health Care Bill Puts the IRS on Steroids with Extra Budget Money and Taxpayers will be Impacted According to Fresh Start Tax LLC

Miami, FL. (PRWEB) July 03, 2012

Quietly hidden in the agenda of the Health Care Provisions is an additional $ 500 million earmarked for the Internal Revenue Service (“IRS”) that will allow them to hire additional personnel to enforce compliance, oversee tax laws, and implement the new Health Care Laws. The IRS is also spending millions to modernize their software and computer systems, making it much easier to find tax cheats and non-filers. With additional personnel and better computer systems, more taxpayers will be facing IRS audits, bank levies, wage garnishments, and tax liens.

According to their own 2013 projections, the IRS believes the new personnel hired will generate more than $ 1.48 billion in tax revenue. The report also stated that the IRS will be launching new programs to monitor employment tax, excise, gift and international collections. “Let’s face it”, Sullivan, director of Fresh Start Tax LLC, says, “the bottom line is that the Federal Government needs money to cover our large debt. Now, the IRS has the money and authorization to take action.”

Even Sen. Marco Rubio said Thursday that the Supreme Courts decision to uphold President Barack Obamas health care law means that the IRS will now come after Americans. I hope people back home fully understand what this means, and heres what this means: It is now unlawful for you not to buy health insurance, and if you do not buy it, you have an IRS problem, the Florida Republican said on Fox News. In an interview with CNN’s Candy Crowley, Rubio also stated, If you do not buy health insurance, the IRS is going to be on your back and chasing you. Theyre going to take away your refund, theyre going to increase your fees, theyre going to come after you. This is now turning the IRS into an enforcement mechanism for Obamacare.

Some of the main goals of the IRS, as stated on their “Summary by Appropriations Account and Budget Activity Report”, is to:

1. Improve Voluntary Compliance in the filing of tax returns,

2. Stricter enforcement and collections to ensure everyone meets their tax obligations

3. Ramp up and enforce International Tax Administration

4. Use resources to target high risk areas such as large corporations, international compliance and tax audits for many more taxpayers.

So what is the real bottom line and who will this really effect? Sullivan feels that for the average Joe Taxpayer who receives a simple W-2 and e-Files a simple 1040, this will have no bearing except for an occasional tax audit, but to the rest BEWARE.

Sullivan feels there is no doubt about it and says, “Obama is unleashing the IRS dogs. Now the IRS will be able to act more aggressively in all areas of collections and compliance, especially with the new laws relating to the Health Care Program. We can expect to see a much greater rise in tax audits from the small company to the large corporate giant.”

From Manners to Mans Best Friend Latest Issue of PS: Political Science & Politics Offers a Diverse Lineup of Research and Commentary

(PRWEB) July 03, 2012

Published by Cambridge University Press for the American Political Science Association, PS is the only quarterly professional news and commentary journal in the field of political science. The July edition offers fascinating articles on:

Rudeness in public life

In a six-article symposium, Political Civility, eight authors put incivility in politics in the spotlight, holding political leaders, campaign consultants, the media, and voters themselves to account for defaulting to a position of rudeness and entrenchment that undermines useful compromise. A common theme is that current levels of incivility are troubling and are preventing much-needed bipartisanship in the face of the nations problems. Although many established politicians regularly demonstrate an aptitude for civility, the medias focus on conflict has led to a substantial cohort of voters who are trained to respond to the rude, uncompromising face of politicians, pushing the dream of a politics of compromise even further away.

Unleashing the pet-factor

The way presidents use their pets to communicate with the nation and strengthen their position is examined in Unleashing Presidential Power: The Politics of Pets in the White House. Authors Forrest Maltzman, James Lebovic, Elizabeth Saunders, and Emma Furth demonstrate that pets can be both an important power center in the White House and a crucial part of a presidents strategy to engage the public. The authors outline the conditions under which presidents are most likely to trot out their four-legged friends and show that presidents give much careful thought to when to conduct a dog and pony show. In times of war or scandal, dogs are welcome public companions, but in periods of economic hardship they are best left in the kennel.

Obamas GLB backlash?

How much Obama owes to the gay, lesbian, and bisexual (GLB) vote and how much they may punish him for failing to pass employment laws to protect them come under discussion in President Obama and Gay Rights: The 2008 and 2012 Presidential Election. Mary McThomas and Robert Buchanan examine the past role and potential impact of GLB voters in the 2008 and 2012 presidential elections to assess fluctuations in support for the Democratic Party by GLB voters. They estimate how much the GLB vote counted toward Obama’s victory margin in battleground states and argue that, with the Obama Administration’s failure to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act, the president could be held accountable in the 2012 election for failing to protect GLB people from job discrimination.

Getting it Right in Left-dominated higher education

In Diversifying the Academy: How Conservative Academics Can Thrive in Liberal Academia, two Republican political scientists, Robert Maranto and Matthew Woessner, take on received wisdom that conservative academics face severe discrimination in a higher education world dominated by left leaning professors. Exploring emerging research and drawing on their own experiences, Maranto and Woessner find a more complex picture, arguing that conservative intellectuals can survive and even thrive (at least in political science). They go on to recommend steps that right leaning faculty can take to avoid needless political conflict and work happily in a profession largely dominated by the Left.

Women publish but still perish on the academic ladder

The well-known academic mantra, publish or perish holds true in political departments up and down the United States except if you are a woman ambitious to move from assistant to associate professor. This is the shocking finding of Vicki Hesli, Jae Mook Lee, and Sara McLaughlin Mitchell outlined in their article Predicting Rank Attainment in Political Science: What Else Besides Publications Affects Promotion? The trio present research that substantiates publish or perish but with the notable exception of the movement of women up a ranking system where they found that men have a significant advantage in gaining tenure. Analyzing the main factors that have a bearing on climbing the ladder in political departments, they uncovered no discernible link among women between the number of publications they have produced and the likelihood of their being an associate professor. Hearteningly, they also found that those women who survive the tenure process are as likely as men to move up the academic ladder to full professor.

It all makes for great reading, says PS Managing Editor, Barbara Walthall, and thats not all:

We also have some superb reports on an analysis of polls that show that 25% of Americans think President Obama is Muslim, an examination of a growing trend of class disparities in youth voting, and the findings of a 13-year study comparing online and traditional learning.

Its a really intriguing collection of timely articles, for specialist or nonspecialist, that are both interesting and exceptionally timely!

Obama jokes & cartoons – Hysteria, Hope and Hot Air

Media hysteria and public ignorance have driven his campaign. This flim-flam man is selling “hope” and “hot air” and a thousand promises no one could possibly deliver. We’re supposed to be electing a President – not the next favorite singer for “American Idol”. The media has proven very reluctant to grill Obama the way they do all the other candidates. Why? Hillary looks great by comparison. She has workable solutions not just hope and cheers about change. Obama is like a pied piper and we know how that tale turned out.

President Obama Holds A Town Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio: Mitt Romney’s Economic Plan

Are you in? OFA.BO President Obama held a town hall meeting in Cincinnati where he highlighted a new report that estimates Mitt Romney’s economic plan would create 800000 jobs in other countries, including 73000 jobs in China. These jobs are likely to come at the expense of American workers, in cities like Cincinnati. Romney’s plan to create jobs in other countries comes after independent economists have said that his economic plans could slow the economy and reduce the number of jobs in the United States.

Libertarian 2012 Presidential and Vice Presidential Candidates, Former Governor Gary Johnson and Ret. Judge Jim Gray, Give an Exclusive Interview to FACETStelevision

(PRWEB) July 17, 2012

The Libertarian Presidential Candidate Gary Johnson appeared live via video feed for a FACETStelevision interview with Producer/Host Kevin McDonald. Vice Presidential Candidate Judge Jim Gray was simultaneously live with McDonald in the Costa Mesa studios of Time-Warner Cable.

A series of hard hitting questions elicited unexpected and provocative answers from the candidates. Topics ranged from the economy and immigration to foreign policy, the proposed legalization of Marijuana and media censorship of the campaign. We were thrilled to be the first to record Governor Johnsons reaction to the U.S. Supreme Courts ruling upholding The Affordable Care Act also known as Obamacare, said McDonald.

Often referred to as the most fiscally conservative Governor in America, Governor Johnson held office as the Republican Governor of New Mexico between 1995-2003. Johnsons defection from Republican Party has most certainly caused some signifianct consternation in both parties. The Libertarian Party is enjoying a new level of legitimacy and political credibility following Governor Johnsons move.

During the FACETStelevision interview with McDonald, Governor Johnson speaks freely about how he believes CNN and other media outlets have gone out their way to lock him out of the race and the public discourse. The Governor points out that CNN edited out portions of interviews in which former Minnesota Governor Jessie Ventura states his support for the Johnson/Gray ticket in the 2012 presidential election. Johnson went on further to allege that CNN intentionally blurred out a Johnson for President T-shirt worn by Ventura.

Prior to his joining the Libertarians, Governor Johnson was blocked from being included in Republican debates because he reportedly did not come in high enough in certain polls. According to the Governor, he was not even included in those polls.

McDonald made it clear during the interview that he was significantly bothered by what appeared to be the media tilting the playing field in favor of the two main party candidates. Johnson said in a post interview comment, The media have no business censoring the free speech of those being interviewed. Additionally, the Governor expressed both frustration and a dire concern that mainstream media, in essence, silence viable Third-Party candidates.

This type of media manipulation is a real danger to our democracy. A man of Gary Johnsons caliber and proven history must be given a fair opportunity in our election process, said FACETStelevision Executive Producer, David McNeil.

The Johnson Campaign is pledging to get to 15% in at least 4 polls required to get them included in the debates. This would be a huge achievement and a major blow to the status quo. Some early polls have shown Johnson taking votes from Romney although others say that hes gathering votes from Obamas camp as well. Candidate Johnson said he expects to be on the ballot in all 50 states. The campaign getting to 15% will depend in part on whether or not the media and polling organizations decide to continue their dishonest lock out of the Johnson campagin. When asked to comment McDonald said, This treatment of Governor Johnson is truly disturbing and highlights a level of censorship by the establishment media and polling organizations that should never be tolerated by voters or the other political parties for that matter. It is not up to any media, including CNN, nor the political elites, to decide whose endorsements or candidacies should or should not be heard by the public.

Gary Johnson, two-term governor of New Mexico from 1995-2003, has been a consistent advocate for limited, efficient government and personal liberties. Johnson switched from the Republican Party to the Libertarian Party on Dec. 28, 2011. As the Libertarian Party nominee, Johnson will appear on all 50 states’ ballots.

An outspoken pro-Constitution Libertarian, Johnson would end the war in Afghanistan now. He opposes the failed multi-billion dollar war on drugs and demands greater transparency at the Federal Reserve. As president, Johnson plans to cut federal spending by 43 percent, slash debt and make government live within its means while reducing taxes and regulation to foster real job creation and economic opportunity like he did in eight years as governor. The National Review said he was “#1″ in job creation as governor. The Governor is an avid skier and bicyclist. He has reached the highest peaks on four of the seven continents, including Mount Everest.

Russ Widdall to Portray Robert F. Kennedy in Philadelphia Premiere Play this Fall

Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) June 29, 2012

New City Stage Company is thrilled to present the Philadelphia premiere of RFK by Jack Holmes this fall, October 18 – November 4, 2012 on Avenue of the Arts. Just in time for election season! This play is a historically accurate solo performance which biographies the last 4 years of politician Robert F. Kennedys life, from 1964 to 1968, and features music, film and footage from the era. The show is being directed by producing artistic director Ginger Dayle, who is also making her directing debut. This is the first show of New Citys 2012-13 season. Ticket information is available at http://www.NewCityStage.org and by calling 215-563-7500.

The show begins in 1964 when President Johnson decided not to ask Senator Kennedy to be his running mate up until RFKs untimely assassination during the 1968 presidential election. It also includes background information on his personal life as well as his relationships with brother President John F. Kennedy, sister-in-law Jacqueline Kennedy and FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover.

Russ Widdall had been performing professionally in Philadelphia and nationally for over 20 years and has been Co-Artistic Director at New City Stage Company for 3 years. He has performed in television, film and theatre, featuring several productions at the Walnut Street Theatre and the regular role of Ron Lowenthal on HBOs The Wire. RFK will be his third one-man show. He performed Sam Shepards poetry monologues Savage/Love and Tongues for New City Stage during the 2011 Philadelphia Fringe and Live Arts Festival and it was revived for 5 performances in the spring of this year. The show has also been invited to participate in the 2013 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Mr. Widdalls ability as a solo performer has contributed greatly to its success. He also has recent experience working in an educational context and mentoring college students, having been hired several times by the University of the Arts to participate in productions and staged readings.

The show will be performed for 3 weeks from October 18 until November 4, 2012 with possibility of an extension. The show will be performed at New City Stages new rehearsal and office space on Avenue of the Arts. The performance space is site specific and the seating will be extremely limited. The production will also feature dramaturgy on Kennedys life, including television and radio footage of his political career.

Individual tickets go on sale on August 15. Subscriptions for New Citys 2012-12 season go on sale August 1. Tickets can be purchased by visiting our web site.

Student groups, particularly university and high school students studying political science, are given priority when purchasing tickets. Reservations can be made now by contacting the Educational Artistic Associate Kevin Rodden at (215) 563-7500 ext. 5 or via email at Kevin(dot)Rodden(at)NewCityStage(dot)org.

Teachers and professors bringing student groups of 8 or more will receive the discounted student rate for tickets, as well as 1 complimentary chaperone ticket per 10 student tickets purchased. New City has a study guide that will be available as of September 1st that all ticket holders are entitled to. Please inquire in advance to have copies printed or emailed to your group.

New City Stages overall objective for this project is to create a dialogue about politics amongst college students who are voting for the first time. As Educational Artistic Associate Kevin Rodden has noted, there are many parallels between the Obama administration and the Kennedy era. RFK’s impassioned pleas for social justice speak to a rare breed of political animal: a man willing to break with his party on conviction; a man for whom great intelligence is a cross to bear, and a gift to share; a man who shared a dream with the Man who had a Dream.

This educational theatre production is being generously funded by the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Project Stream, the Samuel S. Fels Fund, Bank of America, and the Wyncote Foundation.
